Blurb

The office was bathed in warm hues of the evening sun, but the tension in the air was colder than the arctic wind. Vritika stood near the desk, her arms crossed, glaring daggers at Adiyant, who lounged casually on the leather couch, a smirk playing on his lips.

“I don’t know why you’re here, and frankly, I don’t care,” Vritika said sharply, her voice like a whip cracking in the silence.

Adiyant chuckled softly, rising from his seat with predatory grace. His towering frame seemed to close the distance between them effortlessly.

“You should care, Agni.” His voice was dangerously soft, laced with a possessiveness that made her flinch.

“Agni?” she repeated, frowning. “What kind of ridiculous nickname is that?”

Adiyant’s dark eyes burned into hers, their intensity making her momentarily forget to breathe. “Agni,” he repeated, taking a step closer. “The fierce flame that destroys everything it touches. That’s you. Fiery, untouchable, and yet...” He leaned in, his voice a whisper against her ear, “irresistibly mine.”

She jerked back, her blue eyes blazing with defiance. “I am not yours, Mr. Thakur. And I never will be. Get that through your arrogant head.”

Adiyant’s smirk widened, but his eyes darkened with obsession. “Tum meri ho, Agni. Tumhara jism, tumhara gussa, tumhari har saans—sab kuch mere liye bana hai.”

(You are mine, Agni. Your body, your anger, every breath you take—all of it is made for me.)

“Don’t you dare—” she began, but he cut her off, his voice rising just enough to silence her.

“Main tumhari nafrat ka haqdaar ho sakta hoon, lekin tum par mera haq hai.”

(I may deserve your hatred, but I have a right over you.)

He stepped even closer, leaving no space between them. “Tumhare jism, tumhare dil or tumhari har saans par sirf mera haq hai, aur mera pagalpan tumhe kabhi kisi aur ka hone nahi dega.”

(Your body belongs to me alone, and my madness will never let you belong to anyone else.)

Vritika’s breath hitched, but her resolve didn’t falter. She shoved him back with all her might, her voice trembling with rage. “Stay away from me, Adiyant. You can’t control me.”

Adiyant staggered back slightly, his smirk returning as he adjusted his cufflinks. “Control you? No, Agni. I don’t want to control you. I want to consume you.”

Her jaw tightened, and she turned on her heel, storming toward the door. “This conversation is over.”

“Walk away all you want,” he called after her, his voice echoing in the room. “But you’ll always burn brightest in my world, Agni.”
